When the festive season starts, the question is usually how much is too much. Sonakshi Sinha’s pre-Diwali look answers it. She wore an outfit full of detail and let the rest of her styling stay calm and sharp.

The outfit

Sonakshi chose the Zarbaft Angrakha Set from ITRH. The brand is no stranger to her. She was one of the showstoppers for ITRH, the label of Mohit Rai and Ridhi Bansal, at Lakme Fashion Week. The piece is a tissue angrakha built on a timeless wrap silhouette. It comes as an Anarkali and is priced at ₹2,25,000. The wrap front gives the outfit a graceful shape, and the flowing Anarkali length adds the festive movement you want when you walk into a room.

The silver-grey shows up on the undersleeves and along the borders. It works like a frame: it cools down the warm gold and gives the outfit more depth. Gold and silver can fight each other, but here they sit together comfortably.

The silhouette is layered and the sleeves have dynamic detailing, so the outfit has plenty to look at without any extra effort. The look leans maximalist, in the way Indian festive dressing often does. It feels royal because of its textures and classic shapes.

She also added an organza dupatta, the same kind seen in Nupur Sanon’s Kalidar multicolour lehenga set from ITRH. Organza is light and sheer, so it sits well against the weight of tissue and embellishment.

The jewellery

Her earrings were the only real statement piece. They have a round mint-green stone at the centre, edged with deep purple accents and fine gold wirework. Mint and purple are unexpected next to mustard-gold. They add a little colour and keep the look from feeling too matched, and the gold wirework ties them back to the outfit.

Hair and makeup

Her hair was in a sleek low bun, with a few sharp tendrils pulled out to frame her face. The shape is neat and polished, and it keeps attention on the earrings and neckline.

Her makeup followed the same idea. Her eyes were defined with sharp, dramatic winged eyeliner, which gave her face structure.

A clean bindi sat neatly on her forehead, and soft nude-pink lips kept the overall look light so the outfit could remain the star. The strong liner gives the face structure. The nude-pink lip keeps the whole look from turning too heavy.

This look works because every part knows its job. The outfit carries the glamour, the earrings add a pop of colour, and the hair and makeup stay quiet and sharp.
