Nita Ambani’s latest ethnic look brings together the beauty of handwoven silk and the grandeur of traditional Indian jewellery. For her latest appearance, she chose a baby-pink Kanjivaram saree featuring silver zari, pairing it with a metallic silver-grey blouse and a multi-strand pearl haar inspired by Rajasthan’s royal jewellery heritage.

Shared by Swadesh on October 25, the ensemble stands out for its intricate craftsmanship and carefully balanced colour palette. The soft pink silk provides a delicate base, while the cool-toned blouse and shimmering zari lend the traditional drape a contemporary finish.

The saree is crafted from fine mulberry silk and features Kattam checks across its baby-pink base. Gold and pure silver zari add a subtle sheen to the fabric, while traditional Mayil, or peacock, and Rudraksha motifs bring character to the weave. Tassels along the pallu complete the design.

The saree was handwoven over four months by master artisan Rajesh Sha, highlighting the time and skill involved in its creation. Rather than relying on heavy embellishments, the ensemble allows the textile's intricate details to take centre stage.

Nita paired the saree with a short-sleeved silver-grey blouse featuring a metallic finish. The blouse picks up the cool undertones of the silver zari without taking attention away from the pink silk. The combination also offers an alternative to the traditional matching blouse, creating a tonal contrast that feels polished and understated.

The jewellery adds a regal dimension to the look. Nita accessorised the saree with a multi-strand haar from Swadesh, drawing inspiration from Rajasthan’s royal jewellery traditions.

The necklace features cascading strands of seed pearls, gold spacer bars crafted using the traditional Thappa technique and natural Polki diamonds. Its layered design creates a striking focal point, balancing the delicate colour of the saree with the richness of traditional jewellery.

Statement earrings, a prominent ring and pink bangles that echo the saree’s colour complete the accessories. The combination of pearls, gold and Polki diamonds introduces varied textures while retaining a cohesive traditional aesthetic.

A red bindi, centre-parted hair styled in soft curls and subtle makeup round off the look. The restrained beauty styling keeps the focus on the intricate weave and statement necklace.

Why Nita Ambani’s pink Kanjivaram look stands out

Nita’s ensemble brings together two distinct expressions of Indian craftsmanship: the artistry of South Indian silk weaving and the grandeur of Rajasthan-inspired jewellery. The pastel palette keeps the look delicate, while the silver zari, metallic blouse and layered haar add depth.

The four-month weaving process gives the saree a story beyond its colour, with the Kattam checks and traditional motifs showcasing the detail behind its creation. Meanwhile, the pearl and Polki necklace adds a heritage-inspired finish without overwhelming the drape.

Nita Ambani’s latest appearance is a reminder of how traditional Indian textiles can be styled through thoughtful colour combinations, intricate craftsmanship and statement accessories. Here, the appeal lies in the details, from the shimmer of silver zari against baby-pink silk to the richness of pearls and Polki diamonds.
