Kriti Sanon’s red Bodice sari proves you don’t need embroidery to make a statement | PICTURES

Kriti Sanon is making a case for letting fabric and form do the talking. The actor stepped out in a red sari by Bodice, the label founded by New Delhi-based designer Ruchika Mehta, proving that Indian wear can make a statement without heavy embroidery, sequins or elaborate embellishments.
Fresh from turning showstopper for designer Abhinav Mishra in a black mirror-work lehenga, Sanon switched gears with a look that leaned into contemporary minimalism. Her red viscose crepe sari featured distinctive three-dimensional white fabric stripes along the border and pallu, adding texture and definition to the otherwise clean silhouette.
The contrast continued with the matching blouse, which featured deep V-necklines at the front and back. White striped detailing extended across the sleeves and back, bringing a geometric element to the ensemble without overwhelming its bold red base.
Rather than relying on elaborate jewellery, Sanon kept the accessories carefully coordinated. She wore seashell drop earrings from H Craft Fine Jewellery, rings by Anaash and an ivory Koko Halo Cascade clutch from Outhouse Jewellery. White pumps completed the look, reinforcing the red-and-white colour palette.
The actor's beauty look followed the same understated approach. Hairstylist Aasif Ahmed gave her a side-parted, turned-out blowout, while makeup artist Adrian Jacobs opted for smoky rose-brown eyeshadow and glossy lips.
What makes this sari stand out is its approach to detail. Instead of conventional surface ornamentation, the design uses contrasting fabric, sculptural lines and a restrained colour palette to create visual interest. It is a contemporary take on sari dressing that feels equally suited to a fashion event or an evening occasion.
Sanon's look also offers a styling lesson: when the drape makes a statement, accessories need not compete for attention. A sculptural clutch, minimal jewellery and pointed footwear can be enough to bring the entire ensemble together.
