Isha Ambani marked Swadesh’s first anniversary in a maximalist ensemble by New Delhi-based label Torani, celebrating India’s rich textile and embroidery traditions. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the lehenga set was created in collaboration with Swadesh and brings together the intricate art of kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh and pattachitra, a traditional cloth-painting style from Odisha.

Set against an ivory base, the ensemble features hand-painted depictions of Radha and Krishna in vivid shades of electric blue, vermillion and shimmering gold. The intricate artwork is framed by an elaborate mix of zardozi, French knots, moti work, mirror embellishments and tassels, lending the outfit depth and texture. The craftsmanship behind the look is as remarkable as its visual impact: 10 artisans spent over 90 days on the painting alone, with the ensemble taking a total of 2,000 hours to complete.

The lehenga is paired with a contemporary, shirt-style choli featuring cap sleeves and painted panels at the waist. These details echo the artwork along the hem of the dupatta, tying the ensemble together. More than a statement festive outfit, the creation highlights how India's traditional crafts can come together to produce something that feels closer to a work of art.

The accessories follow the same maximalist sensibility. Ambani layered a choker with a broad, polki-studded band, finished with pearl and meenakari tassels. A peacock-shaped ear cuff, complete with a tiered jhumka, offered a subtle reference to Lord Krishna's iconic peacock feather. Gold kadas featuring the same motif completed the jewellery.

Her hair was styled in a half-up ponytail, with a custom, waist-length parandi by Tonoto adding another layer of detail. Adorned with multicoloured fabric beads, cowrie shells, ghungroos and cascading tassels, the hair accessory was a statement in its own right. Blue eyeshadow and a soft pink lip rounded off the look, balancing the ensemble's rich colours and elaborate detailing.
