Is Caitlyn Jenner transitioning back to being a man? The truth behind the viral claim

Every so often, a headline pops up saying Caitlyn Jenner is ‘done with womanhood’ and plotting a return to life as Bruce. It gets shared, screenshotted and argued over, and then it quietly fades until the next time.
Recently, a post from X account Hoops Crave has been doing the rounds. It says Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly “transitioning back to being a man because she’s tired of pretending to have a period every month”. It is built to be shared. It has a shock claim, a punchy confession and a before-and-after picture, which is all most people need before they hit repost. The line is presented as Jenner’s own words, yet the post gives no interview, date, programme or link.
The version that spread furthest dates from 2016, when Kardashian biographer Ian Halperin spoke to The Wrap. He said one source had told him Caitlyn had whispered of “sex change regret” and might go back to being Bruce Jenner. He said several sources close to the family could vouch for her feelings, but he did not name any of them. He also predicted she might reverse course within a couple of years, adding that she was still interested in women and hoped to meet the right one.
There is no named source, no recording and no statement from Jenner herself.
Jenner’s team did not let it sit. A representative told the New York Daily News the report was not worth commenting on, and flatly said it was not true. The denial arrived just hours after the original story appeared.
Jenner has said it herself, repeatedly
The more telling evidence is what Jenner has said in her own voice. In a 2016 interview with NBC’s Today, she described a single moment of doubt, a panic attack after a surgery she did not specify, and said that otherwise she had no regrets whatsoever. That wobble is the same one the rumour mill later seized on. She had also told Vanity Fair she wondered what she had done after her facial surgery. A moment of panic after major surgery is not a wish to undo a transition, but it makes a handy kernel of truth for a rumour to grow around.
When Diane Sawyer caught up with her nearly two years after their first interview, the answer was even plainer. Jenner said she had no regrets, none whatsoever, and that she was happy and at peace, and she told Sawyer she had done the right thing. Asked directly whether she had ever regretted transitioning, she replied with a single word: “Never.”
Not a one-off: the rumour keeps coming back
The claim has resurfaced in different clothes since. A tabloid, Globe, ran a story citing an unnamed insider who said she could not cope with the side effects of hormone treatment and wanted to be a man again. Her representative told Gossip Cop, on the record, that the claim was inaccurate.
Then there are the outright hoaxes. Back in 2015, PinkNews reported on a fabricated article, hosted on a website it chose not to name, claiming that Jenner regretted her transformation and would soon become a man again. The same site also falsely claimed Glamour had taken back her Woman of the Year award, when the magazine had in fact stood by its decision.
So, is it true?
No. There is no credible evidence that Caitlyn Jenner has said, announced or planned anything of the kind. Her more recent public life points the same way. In a 2026 interview she described how she had hoped to transition before turning 40, and she has spoken about the practical problems she faces now that US passport rules tie sex markers to sex assigned at birth. Those are the words of someone fighting administrative headaches as a woman, not someone planning a return to Bruce.
