BM Suhara bags Basheer Balyakalasakhi Award; VM Girija wins Basheer Amma Malayalam Award

Thalayolaparambu: Noted writer B M Suhara bagged the Basheer Balyakalasakhi Award instituted by Vaikom Muhammed Basheer Memorial Trust and poet V M Girija won the Basheer Amma Malayalam Award instituted by Basheer Amma Malayalam Literary Community.

Both awards include a cash prize of Rs 10001, a plaque and a felicitation letter each. The awards will be handed over to the winners at an event to be held in Thalayolaparambu after the pandemic threat declines, the Basheer memorial trust authorities informed.

A jury including Bharat Bhavan secretary and theatre-film director Pramod Payyannur as chairman and writers K V Mohankumar, Kiliroor Radhakrishnan, mediapersons Dr Paul Manalil, M Saritha Mohana Varma, Dr U Shamla, Dr S Lalimol and Dr Ambika A Nair as members selected the winners for the awards.
