Value added products from coconut apple; experiments to start soon

The Coconut Development Board will start experiments to produce value products from coconut apple by December. A sweet made from coconut apple was already introduced in the market. Now experiments are going on to produce juice, protein powder and other products from coconut apple. This is being planned to help farmers earn more profit.

The experiments are conducted by the Institute of Technology under the Coconut Development Board. First samples of the new products will be launched in the market. Later, the technology will be shared with interested parties. They will also be provided with training. The board also gives subsidy to start new venture.

Paneer was already developed from coconut milk and soy milk. Its technology also is prepared. Many people keep approaching the board for the technology of various products such as chocolate, chips, cookies and pickle. Training for customers will start soon adhering to COVID protocol. Many value added products from coconut are already introduced in the market.
