The vacancies span across the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Special Security Force (SSF), Assam Rifles, and the Narcotics Control Bureau, making it one of the largest central police recruitment drives in recent years.

PET, PST next in line for shortlisted candidates
Candidates who clear the CBT will progress to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). These physical assessments are mandatory for all shortlisted applicants and serve to determine their suitability for roles involving high security, physical alertness, and operational preparedness.
Following successful clearance of the PET and PST, candidates will be required to undergo a comprehensive medical examination before final selection and induction into service.
Multilingual exam reflects pan-India outreach
The CBT comprised 80 questions worth a total of 160 marks and was conducted over a duration of 60 minutes. The exam was offered not just in English and Hindi, but also in 13 regional languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali, Marathi, and Urdu. This multilingual approach ensured broader accessibility and inclusiveness across various regions of India.
Answer key released; objections under review
Post-exam, the SSC released the provisional answer key on March 4. Candidates were permitted to raise objections until March 9. The Commission is currently reviewing these submissions.
Once the review concludes, a final answer key will be issued, which will form the basis for calculating candidates’ scores and preparing the merit list.
