The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) Examination 2025. The announcement is available on the SSC's official website – ssc.gov.in – and invites online applications for various posts, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Postal Assistant (PA), and Sorting Assistant (SA), across multiple government departments.

Eligibility criteria for SSC CHSL 2025

Candidates applying for the CHSL 2025 examination must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the official notification. Those who fail to fulfil the specified conditions will be disqualified from the recruitment process.

Tentative vacancies

There are approx. 3131 tentative vacancies. However, firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with post-wise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission in due course.

Educational qualification

For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’: Candidates must have cleared Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics.

LDC/JSA/PA/SA/DEO (General): Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board.

Age limit

The age of applicants will be determined as of August 1, 2025, with the minimum age set at 18 years and the maximum at 27 years.

Application fee

The application fee is ₹100. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee

Dates for submission of online applications: June 23, 2025, to July 18, 2025

Last date and time for receipt of online applications: July 18, 2025 (11 pm)

Last date and time for making online fee payment: July 19, 2025 (11 pm)

Dates of ‘Window for Application Form Correction’ and online payment of Correction Charges: July 23, 2025 to July 24, 2025 (11 pm)

Schedule of Tier-I (Computer-Based Examination): September 08, 2025 to September 18, 2025

Schedule of Tier-II (Computer-Based Examination): February-March 2026

SSC CHSL 2025 exam pattern

A clear understanding of the exam pattern is essential for all applicants. The examination will be structured as follows:

Tier 1 exam pattern is as follows

English Language (Basic Knowledge): Number of Questions—25/Total Marks—50

General Intelligence: Number of Questions—25/Total Marks—50

Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill): Number of Questions—25/Total Marks—50

General Awareness: Number of Questions—25/Total Marks—50

Each incorrect answer will attract a negative marking of 0.50 marks. The exam will comprise 100 questions carrying a total of 200 marks.

  • After reading, click the SSC CHSL online application link on the homepage
  • New users must register to generate a registration number and password
  • Log in using these credentials and enter the required personal details.
  • Upload all relevant documents and pay the applicable application fee based on the candidate's category.
  • Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future use.
