18 migrants dead as thousands breach Morocco-Spain border, sparking Ceuta crisis
Ceuta: At least 18 migrants were killed while trying to enter the Spanish territory of Ceuta after thousands of people breached the border with Morocco, triggering a major humanitarian and security crisis, officials said.
According to local Civil Guard workers' association leader Rachid Sbihi, many of the victims drowned while attempting to swim across, while others died in a stampede near the breakwater fence at Tarajal Beach, close to the border crossing.

34 killed in Pakistan coal mine blast as rescue operations continue
Karachi: At least 34 miners were killed and over a dozen remained trapped following a methane gas explosion in a coalfield in Pakistan's Balochistan province, authorities said on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday in the Sorange coalfield near Quetta when a methane gas explosion struck a coal mine during a shift change, also damaging a neighbouring mine and trapping over 50 workers.
Franco Baresi, AC Milan legend and Italian football icon, dies at 66
Milan: Franco Baresi, the former AC Milan captain who was one of Italy's most acclaimed defenders, has died. He was 66.
His death was announced on Friday by Milan, the soccer club where he spent his entire 20-year playing career. No cause of death was given.
