The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially opened applications for over 1,000 highly sought-after bank jobs. This major SBI recruitment drive seeks eligible Indian citizens for appointment to various Specialist Cadre Officer posts (SBI SO) on a contract basis.

The total number of vacancies stands at 1,040 (indicative and provisional) across three key roles. These SBI jobs include 506 positions for VP Wealth (SRM), 206 for AVP Wealth (RM), and 284 for Customer Relationship Executives.

Key dates and how to apply

Online registration for these opportunities is already underway. Candidates must submit their application and pay the required fee between 02.12.2025 and 23.12.2025.

All applications must be made online via the official SBI careers portal. Visit https://sbi.bank.in/web/careers/current-openings to register. Applicants must ensure they upload all relevant documents, including their resume, proof of identity, educational certificates, and experience details; failure to do so will result in candidature rejection. The application fee is ₹750 for UR, EWS, and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, and PwBD applicants are exempt from payment.

Eligibility essentials

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria, including age, educational qualification, and relevant experience, as of 01.05.2025. A graduation from a government-recognised university is mandatory for all three posts.

For the VP Wealth (SRM) post, candidates need a minimum of six years’ experience in sales and marketing with leading financial institutions. AVP Wealth (RM) requires three years of similar experience. Importantly, Customer Relationship Executives must possess a valid driving licence for a two-wheeler. Teaching or training experience will not be considered towards eligibility.

Selection process and contract details

Selection consists of shortlisting, followed by one or more rounds of personal or telephonic/video interviews. The final merit list is prepared strictly based on scores obtained in the interview only. Candidates currently employed in government or PSU offices must provide a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) during the interview.

The contracts are for five years, renewable at the bank’s discretion. Annual CTC upper ranges are substantial, reaching ₹44.70 lakhs for VP Wealth (SRM) and ₹30.20 lakhs for AVP Wealth (RM). Successful applicants must indicate three different Circle preferences during their online submission, although the bank reserves the right to transfer officers anywhere in India.
