Plus One Admission: 30 percent rise in seats in government schools across seven districts

Kasaragod: The public education department has approved a 30 percent increase in marginal seats for the plus one allotment in all the government higher secondary schools across the seven districts in the state.  

The districts include Kasargod, Kannur, Wayanad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Palakkad and Thiruvananthapuram. The seats in the aided schools in all these districts will increase by 20 percent. In addition to this, the public education director has been instructed to allot an additional 10 percent seats to such schools upon request.

There has been a 20 percent rise in seats in all the government and aided higher secondary schools in Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kollam districts. Same is the case with the schools in the Ambalapuzha and Cherthala taluks of the Alappuzha district.   

The 77 temporary batches allotted in the academic year 2022-2023, the four altered batches and the 97 additional batches allotted in the academic year 2023-24 will be continued this year.

Students can apply for plus one admissions via online between May 16 - May 25. The trial admission will be conducted on May 29 and the first phase allotment will take place on June 5.

4,25,565 have cleared the SSLC exams this year. Despite a slight dent in the total winning percentage by 0.01 percent when compared to the previous year, the number of full A-Plus holders has increased this time round.
