The National Testing Agency (NTA) is to announce the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 results for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) on April 17 (Thursday). Candidates can check their scores and download the scorecards from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, once released.

When was the exam conducted?
The BE/BTech (Paper 1) examinations were held on April 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8, while the BArch/BPlanning (Paper 2) exam took place on April 9. The tests were conducted at 531 centres in 285 Indian cities and 15 cities abroad.

What was the answer key procedure?
NTA released the provisional answer key for Paper 1 on April 10. Candidates were allowed to submit objections until April 13, with a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question. The agency also published the recorded responses and questions. Valid objections will be reviewed by experts, and if accepted, the final answer key will be updated accordingly.

How will the scores be calculated?
NTA scores will reflect raw marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In cases where a question is dropped, full marks will be awarded to all candidates. Only the final answer key will be used to determine the scores.

How to check the results?
Candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in
  2. Click on the result link for JEE Main 2025 Session 2
  3. Log in using application number and password
  4. View and download the scorecard
  5. Save a copy for future reference

The results will also be accessible on nta.ac.in.

What’s next after JEE Main?
The rank list based on the results will decide eligibility for JEE Advanced 2025, scheduled for June. Only the top 2.5 lakh rankers from JEE Main will qualify for the next stage.

Why is there controversy?
The release of the provisional answer key sparked complaints from students regarding alleged errors. In response, the NTA advised candidates not to draw conclusions from the provisional key, reiterating that the final results will only be based on the revised key after all objections are reviewed. The agency maintained that its examination process is transparent and that the answer key challenge system is designed to ensure fairness for all candidates.
