NTA Exam Calendar 2027: JEE Main, UGC NET, CUET PG dates announced

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a tentative examination schedule for December 2026 to March 2027, covering 14 competitive exams, including JEE Main 2027, UGC NET, Joint CSIR UGC-NET, CMAT and CUET PG.

The schedule gives students and candidates an early indication of when some of the country’s major entrance and eligibility examinations are expected to be held. However, the NTA has cautioned that the dates are tentative and could change because of administrative, academic, statutory, logistical or other unforeseen circumstances.

Among the key dates, the first edition of JEE Main 2027 is proposed to take place in January, while UGC NET is scheduled for December. CMAT is planned for February and CUET PG for March.

JEE Main 2027 dates

The first edition of JEE Main 2027, the engineering entrance examination, is proposed to be conducted on January 22-24 and January 28-30, 2027.

The NTA has kept January 31 as a buffer date for the examination.

Students preparing for engineering admissions will therefore need to keep the January window in mind while planning their preparation and other academic commitments.

UGC NET 2027 schedule

The UGC NET examination is tentatively scheduled between December 14 and 19, 2026.

The NTA has designated December 20 and 21 as buffer dates for the examination.

The Joint CSIR UGC-NET is proposed to be conducted on December 20-21, 2026.

CMAT 2027 on February 7

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is scheduled to be held on February 7, 2027.

CMAT is among the competitive examinations included in the NTA's December 2026-March 2027 calendar.

CUET PG 2027 dates

The Common University Post Graduate Admission Test (CUET-PG) is spread across several dates in March 2027.

The examination is proposed to be held on:

March 1-5

March 8

March 12-20

March 24-25

The NTA has kept March 30-31 as buffer dates for CUET PG.

What other exams are on the NTA calendar?

Apart from JEE Main, UGC NET, CSIR UGC-NET, CMAT and CUET PG, the tentative NTA schedule also includes several other examinations.

• Army Cadets College examination
• NIFT entrance examination
• Rashtriya Indian Military College examination
• Rashtriya Military Schools examination
• SWAYAM examination
• All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination

Overall, 14 competitive examinations are proposed to be conducted by the NTA between December 2026 and March 2027.

NTA cautions candidates over tentative dates

The NTA has made it clear that the examination calendar is not final. A senior official said the proposed schedule may be revised depending on administrative, academic, statutory and logistical requirements, as well as unforeseen circumstances.

Candidates should therefore treat the announced dates as tentative and check subsequent NTA updates for any changes.
