New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied courses.
The NTA stated that the results were published on schedule to ensure that the subsequent counselling and medical college admission processes remain on track. The testing authority had previously made the final answer key for NEET (UG) 2026 available prior to the official results release.
In an official release, the NTA said, "11.21 lakh candidates qualify; Results declared in time for counselling and Medical College Admissions; Toppers from almost all States and Union Territories; More than 58 per cent of qualified candidates are women; Examination conducted in 13 languages."
According to the agency, nearly 20 lakh candidates sat the entrance test, which took place on June 21 across 5,440 centres located in 551 Indian cities and 14 international locations. The test was administered in 13 languages.
The NTA reported that over 58 per cent of the successful candidates are women, and qualifiers were recorded from every State and Union Territory in the country. It added that 138 candidates achieved scores exceeding 690 out of a maximum of 720 marks, with more than 93 per cent of those top performers taking the NEET (UG) for the first time.
Disclosing the details of the highest achievers, the agency announced that the top score of 715 out of 720 was shared by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana.
The statement further noted, "The result has been declared in time so that the medical-admission and counselling calendar for candidates stays on track."
The NTA noted that individual scorecards are now accessible on the official NEET website, alongside lists of top-ranking candidates, state-wise high achievers, category-specific toppers, and the qualifying cut-off marks.
The testing body additionally cautioned candidates to rely solely on official portals for all admission and counselling updates, warning them to be vigilant against fraudulent phone calls, text messages, or spurious websites offering admissions, seat reservation, or score manipulation.
Seat allocation for the All India Quota in MBBS and BDS programmes will be managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), whilst the respective state authorities will oversee the state quota counselling, the NTA added.
