Kochi: The Kerala High Court demanded Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) to decide what can be done in the case of final year MBBS students who could not write the exams held between March 31 and April 5.

The university told the court that they are considering allowing students to appear for the supplementary exam or retest in September. The bench comprising chief justice S Manikumar and justice Murali Purushothaman directed the university to decide within a month.

The bench was hearing the appeal against the single bench order that dismissed the students' plea to postpone the final year exams. Hundreds of students boycotted the final year exam protesting 'lack of sufficient number of classes'.

Fake information circulating on social media forced students to stay away from exams. The university should have addressed the matter then itself. Students cannot be blamed for not attending the exams, the court said.
