Artificial Intelligence app gave UPSC Prelims 2024 exam; scored 170 out of 200

PadhAI, an Artificial Intelligence-based app, achieved a remarkable score of over 170 out of 200 in the Union Public Service Commission preliminary exams 2024, surpassing traditional human scores that typically remain under 100, according to an official statement.

Developed by a team of IITians, PadhAI exhibited its capabilities by completing the entire exam paper in under seven minutes during a public demonstration held immediately after the UPSC preliminary exams. The event took place at The Lalit hotel in Delhi, attended by UPSC officials, members from the education sector and media professionals.

The app's performance places it within the top 10 nationally, potentially even securing the top rank, as per the official release.

"The AI's swift completion of the exam within seven minutes is a significant milestone, streamed live at livestream.padhai.ai and YouTube," the statement highlighted. It further noted that the questions and AI-generated answers are publicly accessible for review.

Comparative evaluations were carried out using answer keys from leading coaching institutes, benchmarking PadhAI against broad AI models from major tech companies such as Google, Microsoft and OpenAI.

"This achievement represents the highest score in UPSC exams over the past decade. We anticipate that such pioneering events will become commonplace as educational institutions increasingly adopt AI for rapid and precise exam solutions," remarked Karttikeya Mangalam, CEO of PadhAI.

PadhAI, available on the Google Play Store, integrates advanced AI features tailored for UPSC preparation, including smart previous year question (PYQ) search, doubt clarification, news and book summaries and interactive answer.
