JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip release: What candidates need to know and when it is expected

The wait for the JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip is set to end soon. As per reports, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the city intimation slip in the first week of January 2026, giving candidates an early idea of where their exam centre will be located for Session 1.
JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip: Latest Status
The NTA has not yet officially released the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip. However, it is expected shortly. Once released, candidates appearing for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will be able to download it from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
This slip provides advance information about the exam city, helping students plan travel and accommodation ahead of time. The exact release date has not been announced yet.
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Dates
Session 1 of the JEE Main 2026 examination will be conducted from January 21 to January 30, 2026. The exam will be held in two shifts each day.
Exam Shifts and Timing
- First shift: 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
- Second shift: 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
The exam duration is:
- 3 hours for Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), and Paper 2B (B.Planning)
- 3 hours 30 minutes for candidates appearing for both B.Arch and B.Planning together
About JEE Main Papers
- Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech): Admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and institutions recognised by participating State Governments
- Paper 2A and 2B: Admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses
JEE Main also serves as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, required for admission to IITs
Admit Card and Exam City Rules
The JEE Main 2026 admit card will be released three to four days before the exam. The NTA’s decision on exam city and centre allotment will be final, and requests for changes will not be accepted.
