Mumbai Port Authority invites applications for professional Electrical Engineering internships

Mumbai Port Authority has invited applications for engagement of Jr. Professional Interns (Electrical) purely on a contract basis in the Electrical Division.

The total number of Jr. Professional Interns (Electrical) to be hired will be 16.

Eligibility: (i) Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Obtained after passing a course of not less than three years’ duration) from a recognised university or Institute (ii) One year of experience in operation/maintenance of Electrical Systems.

Desirable: (i) Prior experience in port operations or related industries (ii) Working knowledge of English, Hindi and Marathi. Preference will be given to persons with experience in the relevant field, supported by field work/ policy papers/ appraisal, and monitoring of projects & schemes.

Soft Skills: Eager to learn and work with various departments; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Ability to multitask; Cope well under pressure; Strong Data Modelling, Research, and Analytical skills

Age Limit: Candidate should be less than 35 years of age as on the date of advertisement and should be in good health.

Crucial date: The crucial date for determining eligibility criteria- educational qualification, experience, etc., shall be 10.02.2026.

Period of Engagement: The initial period of engagement shall be 2 years, which can be extended to an additional 2 years on the basis of performance, with no further extension. There shall be a performance review after every 6 months of engagement of the professional.

The appointment of professionals will be on a full-time basis, and they will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of appointment as Jr. Professional Intern (Electrical) with MbPA.

Experience Certificate: A certificate regarding successful completion of engagement shall be issued by the concerned Department/ Division. Professionals not completing a period of 1 year will not be issued any experience certificate.

Remuneration: Consolidated amount of Rs 40,000 /- per month will be paid to Jr. Professional Intern(Electrical). There shall be annual increments of 5% on the last drawn remuneration based on satisfactory performance.

Place of Posting: The place of posting will be the Electrical Divisions of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department of Mumbai Port Authority.
