Kerala creates 6,043 additional posts in government, aided schools

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala cabinet approved creation of 6,043 additional posts in government and government-aided private schools across the state, effective from October 1, 2022. The decision is based on the assessment of the education department based on the student enrollment in the 2022-23 academic year.

Among the newly created posts, 3,101 positions will be allocated to 1,114 schools in the government sector, while 2,942 positions will be allocated to 1,212 schools in the aided sector. These posts include 5,944 teaching positions and 99 non-teaching positions. The expected financial burden per annum for these additional posts is estimated to be around Rs 59 crore per annum.

As part of the post allocation, 2,996 protected teachers from the aided sector will be redeployed according to the provisions of KER (Kerala Education Rules), and 1,638 teachers from government schools will be adjusted according to vacancies.
