Here’s how to apply for Executive Positions in Engineering and Geoscience at ONGC

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise and India’s leading Crude Oil and Natural Gas Company, has invited applications for vacancies in Class I Executive positions (E1 level) in Engineering and Geoscience disciplines to be recruited through Computer Based Test (CBT).
Essential Qualification and the test to be taken for various positions are as follows:
(a) Geoscience Disciplines
Geologist: Post Graduate Degree in Geology with minimum 60% marks or M.Sc. or M.Tech in Petroleum Geoscience with minimum 60% marks Or M.Sc. or M.Tech in Petroleum Geology with minimum 60% marks or M.Tech. in Geological Technology with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT- Geology)
Geophysicist (Surface): Post Graduate Degree in Geophysics with minimum 60% marks or M.Tech. in Geophysical Technology with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Geophysics) or Post Graduate Degree in Physics with Electronics with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Physics)
Geophysicist (Wells): Post Graduate Degree in Geophysics with minimum 60% marks or M.Tech. in Geophysical Technology with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT - Geophysics) or Post Graduate Degree in Physics with Electronics with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Physics).
(b) Engineering
AEE(Production)– Mechanical: Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Mechanical Engineering)
AEE(Production)– Petroleum: Graduate Degree in Petroleum Engineering / Applied Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Petroleum Engineering)
AEE(Production)– Chemical: Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Chemical Engineering)
AEE(Drilling)– Mechanical: Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Mechanical Engineering)
AEE(Drilling)– Petroleum: Graduate Degree in Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Petroleum Engineering)
AEE (Mechanical)– Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Mechanical Engineering)
AEE (Electrical)– Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% marks (Domain Specific paper for CBT -Electrical Engineering)
Those in the final year of the qualifying program will also be considered provided they obtain minimum required percentage of marks or more in essential Qualification on or before 31.07.2025. Selection Process: Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a Computer Based Test (Objective Type) of 2 hours duration, comprising four sections- General Awareness, concerned subject, English Language and an Aptitude test. There will be No negative marking in the CBT test. Details are given in the Notification.
CBT Score will be considered for shortlisting the candidates for Personal Interview. The shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a Group Discussion. The final selection of the candidate will be based on CBT Score (weightage- 85) and Performance in the Personal Interview (Weightage- 15).

In case of multiple applications from a candidate the latest one shall be considered as final and older applications shall be rejected.
Registration fee is Rs. 1000/-. There is no registration fee for SC/ST/PwBD applicants.
CBT will be held on 23.02.2025 (Tentative).
