44 executive trainee vacancies at Cochin Shipyard Limited; apply now

Cochin Shipyard Limited, a Government of India Enterprise, has invited Online applications from Young Professionals for 44 positions of Executive Trainees positions in various disciplines. 

The disciplines and number of positions is each are, Mechanical (20 vacancies), Electrical (4), Electronics (2), Naval Architecture (6), Civil (3), Information Technology (2), Human Resource (4), Finance (3). Government of India Directives on reservation shall apply. The seats reserved for different categories is given in the Notification at https://cochinshipyard.in/Careers 

Disciplines and Eligibility are as follows

(i) Mechanical: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ii) Electrical: Degree in Electrical Engineering (iii) Electronics: Degree in Electronics Engineering (iv) Naval Architecture: Degree in Naval Architecture (v) Civil: Degree in Civil Engineering (vi) Information Technology: Essential: Degree in Engineering in Computer Science OR Information Technology or Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Computer Science/ Information Technology; Desirable: Valid Certification from reputed agencies/organizations on Programming Language/ DBMS/Networking/ ERP Systems (vii) Human Resource: Two year Master’s Degree or equivalent Degree or equivalent Diploma or Post Graduate Degree in any of the following areas - Master’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in HR or equivalent Degree with specialization in HR or equivalent Diploma with specialization in HR OR Post Graduate Degree in Social Work with specialization in Personnel Management or Labour Welfare & Industrial Relations OR Post Graduate Degree in Personnel Management (viii) Finance: Pass in the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India / Institute of Cost Accountants of India. 

Requirements related to the marks in qualifying examination and the equivalent qualifications for certain Engineering disciplines is specified in the Notification. 

Age

The upper age limit is 27 years as on 06 January 2025. Applicants should be born on or after 07 January 1998. It is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates for posts reserved for them. For the posts of Executive Trainee (Information Technology/Human Resource/Finance), age relaxation for PwBD shall be as per Government of India guidelines.

Selection

Selection process comprises of two phases: (i) Phase-I will be an Objective Type Online Test (60 marks) to be held at various test centres in Kerala. It shall be of 60 minutes’ duration comprising of 60 Multiple Choice Questions from General Awareness (5 Marks), English Language (5), Numerical Ability (5), Reasoning Ability (5) and Subject Based (40). Each question carries 1 mark. There will be no negative marks. 

(ii) Phase-II will be Group Discussion (GD), Writing Skills and Personal Interview (40 marks). 

The minimum pass mark for Objective as well as Descriptive tests shall be 50 % of total marks of each test. For OBC Candidates, it will be 45 % and for SC/ST Candidates, it will be 40 % of total marks of each test only for vacancies reserved for them. For PwBD Candidates [for the posts of Executive Trainee (Information Technology, Human Resource & Finance)], it will be 40 % of total marks of each test.

Final rank list for selection will be prepared by giving marks as follows for different parameters: (a) Objective Type Online Test: 60 marks (b) Group Discussion (GD): 10 marks (c) Writing Skills: 10 marks (d) Personal Interview: 20 marks (Total: 100 marks).

Application fee is Rs. 1000/-to be remitted Online using Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/Wallets/UPI etc) within this time limit. Those belonging to SC/ST need not pay application fee. For the posts of Executive Trainee (Information Technology/Human Resource/Finance), applicants belonging to PwBD category need not pay application fee. 

Copies of certificates / mark sheets in proof of all relevant educational qualifications, certificates in proof of age, caste, disability, experience etc should be uploaded, as per guidelines provided in the online application portal, failing which their candidature will not be considered. After applying online, applicants should retain a soft copy/ printout of the online application containing the unique registration number generated by the system for their reference.

The posting of Executive Trainees shall be at CSL, Kochi/CMSRU, Mumbai/CKSRU, Kolkata/ CANSRU, A&N Islands.
