AFMS extends last date to apply for Medical Officer posts under Short Service Commission

Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has extended the last date for submission of applications for the post of Medical Officer (Short Service Commission- SSC) in AFMS.

Applications can be submitted online at https://join.afms.gov.in/ latest by 8th March 2026. Application processing fee of Rs.200/- is to be paid online using internet banking/Credit card/Debit card.

Indian citizens both males and females, are eligible to apply for the 100 vacancies of which 75 are for males and 25 for females.

Candidates on grant of commission are liable to be posted as per service requirement in any part of the country or abroad, in the Army, Navy or Air Force.

The initial tenure of SSC officers is five years, extendable by another nine years’ in two spells, first of five years and second of four years, for those who are willing to continue, subject to availability of vacancies and meeting the laid down eligibility criteria for grant of extension as per extant policy.
