Tata Institute of Social Sciences, a Deemed to be University, has invited applications for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy Programme (Ph.D.) 2021 at Mumbai Campus, Hyderabad and Tuljapur Off Campuses.

Ph.D Programmes are offered in the specializations of Habitat Studies, Inclusive Development, Public Health and Social Justice, Health Services Management, Disaster Studies, Management and Labour Studies, Rural Development, Social Work, Social Sciences, Applied Psychology, Women’s Studies, Library and Information Science, Development Studies and Education. General Academic Ability: Applicant should have a Second Class Master’s or equivalent degree in the relevant subject awarded by a recognised university in India or abroad, with minimum aggregate of 55% marks or a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 under the seven-point scale of the UGC (45% or GPA of 2.50 for SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled candidates. Those with M.Phil or equivalent degree awarded by a recognized university in India or abroad are also eligible for a PhD

Work Experience: Applicant should have a minimum of five years of post Post-graduation work experience. 

Research Proposal: Applicants are required to submit a research proposal consisting of approximately 1,000 words and should indicate the Specification of the broad field of study, Statement of the research problem and scope and objectives of the study, rationale for and the significance of the study, methodology to be followed, references, and the candidate’s research/work experience in that area, if any.

Research Aptitude Test: Applicants will be shortlisted for the Research Aptitude Test (RAT) on basis of them meeting the requirements with regard to educational qualifications, work experience and research proposal. The date of RAT will be announced later.
