Registration for National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2024 begins

Council of Architecture (CoA), has invited applications for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2024, a Test that one should qualify for the admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) Programme. The CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, prescribe that the candidate needs to qualify an Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted either by NTA (JEE) or NATA conducted by CoA for admission to B.Arch. Program. The actual admissions shall be carried out only by the concerned competent authorities of the respective States / UT’s etc., Institutions based on valid NATA score and eligibility criteria prescribed by CoA and concerned authorities.
NATA-2024 will be conducted on all weekends in two sessions starting from April 2024 and continuing up to July 2024. One can appear for a maximum of 3 attempts in NATA 2024 in one academic year. The best score out of all the attempts shall be considered for declaration of results.
Examination shall be conducted on all Saturdays and Sundays in two sessions, subject to the number of candidates registered for the session. The test will be of 3 hours’ duration with Session 1 from 10 a.m to 1 pm and Session 2 from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm on the examination days, beginning 6.4.2024.
Examination format: NATA 2024 will have 2 parts, each of 90 minutes’ duration carrying a maximum of 200 marks for the 2 parts together. Part A, the Drawing and Composition Test to be held as an Offline Test will have 3 questions, one each from (i) Composition and Color (A1-25 Marks) (ii) Sketching & Composition (Black and White) (A2 - 25 Marks) and (iii) 3D Composition (A3- 30 Marks) (Total 3 Questions - 80 Marks). Part B will be a Computer based online Test having Multiple Choice Questions with 30 questions of 2 Marks each (B1) and 15 questions of 4 Marks each (B2) (Total 45 Questions – 120 Marks) from Visual Reasoning, Logical Derivation, G.K., Architecture & Design, Language Interpretation, Design Sensitivity, Design Thinking and Numerical Ability. Qualifying Marks: To qualify NATA 2024, applicant must score minimum of (i) 20 marks in Part A (ii) 30 marks in Part B and (iii) Overall 70 marks out of 200 as aggregate of Part A and Part B. In case the candidate appears in multiple tests, all the previous scores shall appear on the scorecard. The best score obtained in all attempts shall be taken as the valid score for NATA 2024.
Validity: NATA- 2024 score shall be valid for two academic years from the year in which it appeared.
Eligibility: To appear for NATA 2024, applicant must have passed or should be appearing in (i) 10+1 Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects or (ii) 10+2 Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects or (iii) 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as subject.
For admission to B.Arch. Program, applicant must have passed 10+2/equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Proposal for amendment in above Eligibility Criteria has been submitted for approval of the Central Government. The revision in eligibility, if any, shall be notified upon approval).
Reservation as well as relaxation in qualifying marks for the reserved category for the purpose of admission is a prerogative of the Admission / Counselling Authority and does not fall under the purview of NATA 2024.
Application: Application for NATA 2024 is to be submitted online at www.nata.in. It is to be completed in 3 steps- filling of Personal Details; Document Uploading & Fee Payment. Applicants need to indicate preference for session & city of examination. The application fee to be paid online by each category for applying for 1/2/3 tests is given in the Information Brochure. After the 3 steps are completed, applicants must take a printout of the Confirmation Page generated for their own record. There is no need to send any document by post.

Appearing in the second or third test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants. Candidates can register themselves for one test or maximum of three Tests in one academic year by filling in the application form appropriately.
An applicant initially opting for single/ two tests may further opt for additional tests at a later stage, not exceeding three attempts. However, in such cases no concession in fees would be offered.
