PM Internship Scheme 2025 deadline extended till April 22; Check eligibility here

New Delhi: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has once again extended the registration deadline for the PM Internship Scheme 2025. Initially set to close on April 15, the application process will now remain open until April 22, 2025.
Applicants are not required to pay any registration or application fee to take part in the scheme. Interested candidates can apply through the official website at pminternship.mca.gov.in. The website states, "Application round extended to April 22. No registration or application fees. Apply now!"
Internship duration and focus
The PM Internship Scheme lasts for 12 months. During this time, interns must spend at least half the duration in a real working environment, gaining hands-on experience, rather than in a classroom setting.
The scheme operates independently of all existing Central or State-level programmes related to skill development, apprenticeships, student training or internships.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the internship, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Must have passed high school or higher secondary school, or hold a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a polytechnic institute, or a graduate degree such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.
- Should be between 21 and 24 years of age as of the application deadline.
- Must be of Indian nationality.
- Must not be employed full-time, and should not be pursuing full-time education.
- Candidates enrolled in online or distance learning programmes are eligible to apply.
Scheme aims to reach 1 crore youth in five years
The PM Internship Scheme was first announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the Union Budget speech on 23 July. It aims to provide 12-month internship opportunities in the country’s top 500 companies for youth aged 21 to 24 years from low-income households.
The pilot phase of the scheme is targeting 1.25 lakh young individuals, with a long-term goal of reaching one crore interns over five years.
