Ph.D. Admissions at Forest Research Institute Dehradun

Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, Uttarakhand -248 195, a Deemed to be University, has invited applications for admission to the Ph.D. Forestry Program at the Institute for the term of March 2024. 

The Programme is offered at 15 Centres of the Institute. The details of the centres, research centre-wise position of seats in various disciplines and reservation of seats is shown at www.fridu.edu.in (Notification for Ph.D. Entrance Test and Application Form -2023 link). 

Eligibility: Applicant should have completed a 1-year/2-semester Master's degree programme after a 4-year/8 semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or M.Phil. programme with specified percentage of marks to be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme. Entrance Test: The Ph.D. Forestry Entrance Test 2023 as part of the selection process will be conducted on 07.01.2024. The entrance test would be held either in offline mode at different Research centres of Forest Research Institute Deemed to be University or in online mode (Remote Proctored Examination), as decided by the Institute. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. Those securing 50 % marks in the entrance test (45% for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Differently-Abled, EWS etc) are eligible to be called for the second stage of the selection process, the interview. Application fee of Rs.1500/- is to be paid through Bank Draft in favor of Registrar, FRI Deemed to be University, Dehradun.

The filled application form is to be submitted/sent to the research centre concerned for which the form is filled. The Nodal Officer of the Research Centre will send the application forms to the FRI Deemed to be University. The forms directly send to FRI Deemed to be University shall not be entertained. Applicants for FRI, Dehradun research centre only may directly submit their forms to the Registrar, FRI Deemed to be University. 

Filled applications are to be submitted in prescribed form latest by 10.12.2023.
