The Council of Architecture (CoA) is an autonomous statutory body of the Ministry of Education, Government of India has invited applications for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for admission to 5-year Bachelor of Architecture Program for 2025-26. 

NATA-2025 for admissions into approved Architectural Institutions for the academic session 2025-26, will be conducted on designated Fridays & Saturdays in two sessions from March 1, 2025 and extending up to June, 2025.

One can take three chances for NATA 2025. However, appearing in second or third test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants. Candidates can register themselves for one test or maximum of three Tests in one academic year by filling in the application form appropriately. 

Date & Time of Examination: NATA 2025 will be held from 01.03.2025 onwards till June 2025. It will be 180 minutes / 3.0 hours’ duration. On Fridays there will be no morning session. Afternoon Session will be from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm On Saturdays, morning Session will be from 10 a.m. to 1 pm and Afternoon Session from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Applicants need to indicate their preference of the city/region and date of the test while registering at NATA portal www.nata.in.  The session during which the candidate will take the test as well as the Test Centres, shall be allotted by the Council, as far as possible, based on cities/ regions preferred by the candidate in the application form. However, the decision of the Council in allotting the Test Centre and session to candidates shall be final.

Questions & Marks of Examination: NATA 2025 will be conducted as a comprehensive aptitude test consisting of 2 parts, A and B. Part –A, Drawing and Composition, will be in offline mode and of 90 minutes’ duration, carrying 80 marks. Part B will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and No Choice Questions (NCQ) which will be in Online adaptive mode and of 90 minutes’ duration with maximum 120 marks The medium of Aptitude test shall be in English and Hindi. 

Part A will have 3 sub parts, A1, A2 and A3, with 1 question in each. A1, Composition and Color will carry 25 Marks; A2, Sketching & Composition (Black and White), 25 Marks; and A3, 3D Composition, 30 Marks (Total 3 Questions - 80 Marks). Part B will have 42 MCQ questions in Part B1 and 08 NCQ questions in Part B2 (Total 50 Questions - 120 Marks). Grand Total Marks (Part A + Part B) (80+120) will be 200. Eligibility for appearing for NATA: Those who have (i) Passed or appearing in 10+1 Examination with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) Subjects (ii) Passed or appearing in 10+2 Examination with PCM subjects (iii) Passed or appearing in 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a subject can appear for NATA 2025.

Eligibility for admission to B.Arch. Program: No candidate shall be admitted to Architecture course unless she/he has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Application Fee: Application Fees per test for Test centre in India: General/ OBC (NCL) - Rs. 1750/-; SC/ST/EWS/PwD- Rs. 1250/-; Transgender- Rs. 1000/-. The fee per test for Test Centres outside India will be Rs. 15000/-. Payment can be made through electronic payment gateway (EPG) via debit card, credit card or net banking. Confirmation Page is generated on successful payment of Application Fee. Candidate should take a printout and preserve this for future reference. 

Those initially opting for 1/2 tests may further opt for additional test at a later stage, not exceeding three attempts.

Qualifying Criteria: Applicant should score (i) A minimum of 20 marks in Part A (ii) A minimum of 30 marks in Part B and (iii) 70 marks out of 200 as aggregate of Part A and Part B which will be the overall qualifying marks for NATA 2025. A Candidate will not qualify in NATA-2025 unless all three conditions mentioned above are satisfied. In case the candidate appears in multiple tests, all the previous scores of NATA 2025 shall appear on the score card. The best score obtained in all attempts shall be taken as the valid score for NATA 2025. 

NATA 2025 score shall be valid for two academic years from the year in which appeared.

Those candidates who have already appeared for NATA 2024 and obtained a valid NATA 2024 score, may also apply for NATA 2025. Their NATA 2025 score shall be calculated/determined depending upon number of attempts in NATA 2025. (i) In case of 1 attempt in NATA 2025, Final Score will be the better of the scores of NATA 2024 & 2025 (ii) in case of 2 attempts in NATA 2025, best of three scores of NATA 2024 & 2025 will be considered (iii) in case of 3 attempts in NATA 2025, best of three scores of NATA 2025 will be considered. NATA 2024 score shall be rendered invalid in this case.
