MCA admissions in Kerala: Apply by 20th July, 2020
Director of Technical Education, Kerala, has invited application for admission to the two years (four semesters) Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme, Kerala for 2020-21.
The Programme aims to train graduates in Computer Science Engineering, Computer Applications, Science, Commerce and Arts with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or Graduation level in development and use of software for different applications. The major thrust is on giving the students a sound background in computing, business functions and Mathematics relevant to Information Technology.
Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian Citizen. Applicant should have passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree or Passed B.Sc./B.Com/BA with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or Mathematical Sciences(Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research) at Graduation level.
Applicant should have obtained at least 50 % marks in the Degree examination. Those belonging to reserved category need only 45%.
Final Year regular Bachelor’s Degree students are also permitted to appear for the Entrance Examination provisionally.
Entrance Examination: Selection will be based on an OMR based Entrance examination to be conducted from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm on 25 July 2020, by the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. It will have objective type questions from (i) Mathematics (10,+2 Level 50% and Degree Level 50%) (50 questions) (ii) Statistics (Degree subsidiary Level) (10) (iii) Computer Science (Basic 10, Degree Level 10) (20) (iv) Quantitative aptitude (10) (v) Logical ability (10) (vi) English (10) (vii) General Knowledge (10). Each question will carry three marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://lbscentre.in/ latest by 20 July 2020. Application Fee for General and SEBC candidates is Rs.1000/-. For SC/ST candidates and those eligible for SC/ST benefits as per relevant government order, the application fee is Rs.500/-. It can be remitted online or at any one of the branches of Federal Bank using Challan that can be downloaded from the application website.
