Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) on March 11: Apply by February 25

Applications have been invited for the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2023 for admission to the Ph.D / Integrated Ph.D Programme in Physics; Theoretical Computer Science; Neuroscience and Computational Biology in one of the Participating Institutes of JEST.
The Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), a statutory body established through an Act of Parliament, has recognized JEST as a National Eligibility Test (NET). Fellows working in SERB programmes and qualified in NET are eligible to get enhanced fellowship.

Examination: JEST 2023 will be conducted in Physics and Theoretical Computer Science on March 11, 2023. One can appear for JEST in one of them only. In each, a common examination is conducted both for Ph. D. and Integrated Ph. D. programmes. There is no limit to the number of times one can apply for JEST examination. There is no restriction on age for appearing in the JEST examination. However, each participating institute has its own eligibility criteria. Details of the eligibility criteria of the participating institutes are given at their websites.
The questions are based on the general syllabi of graduation and post-graduation level courses offered by various Indian universities and institutions. Some questions from previous year's examinations and sample questions are available at https://www.jest.org.in/
Eligibility: Participating Institutes have their own eligibility criteria. The tentative eligibility criteria of admission to M.Sc, Ph.D, and Integrated / M.Sc / M.Tech-Ph.D programs in the participating institutes are given at https://www.jest.org.in/
Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://www.jest.org.in/ latest by 25th February, 2023. Those expecting to complete their final examinations of their ongoing course by August 2023 are also eligible to appear for JEST-2023.
Application fee is Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST Male applicants and Non-SC/ST Female
applicants). Amount can be paid online. Application Fee is waived for female applicants belonging to SC/ST category.
