Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Fursatganj Airfield, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh; an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation Govt. of India, has invited applications for admission to the Ab-initio to CPL Course for issue of CPL with Multi-engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft.

Duration of the course is 24 months. However, progress dependent on individual’s performance in academics and flying. The total number of seats is 90. Category wise distribution is as follows: General-36, SC-14, ST- 7, OBC-24, EWS -9.

Eligibility: Applicants must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in English and passed in Mathematics & Physics with minimum 50% aggregate marks. SC/ST/EWS/OBC applicants need 45% for English and 45% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Physics. Applicant should at least 17 years old, at the time of joining. All Candidates must comply eligibility criteria by given date for Interview / Aptitude Test.

Training fee is Rs. 45,00,000/- payable in four quarterly instalments in one year. Additional expenditure for about Rs. 2,00,000/- will also be there towards cost of Uniform, Study Material, Navigation Computer, Head Phones etc. The training fee and other expenditure is same for all category candidates. Boarding & Lodging: Separate Hostels are available for Boys and Girls. Messing and hostel accommodation within the campus (on twin sharing basis), is provided. (Charges approximately Rs. 12,000/- per month).

Selection: Selection will be based on Online Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test. The Online Written Test will be held at allotted centres on 21st May 2020 (Thursday). Reporting time will be 1300 hrs.

Examination Centers: The entrance examination will be held at Agra, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Ranchi and Thiruvananthapuram. An applicant has to give Option for three centers in order of preference when applying..

Syllabus for Written Test: The test will have objective type questions only from General English, Mathematics, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs of 10+2 level. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Application: Applications are to be filled online only on prescribed format. The application form can be reached by clicking on “IGRUA ENTRANCE” available on IGRUA website www.igrua.gov.in

Those who have not received the mark-sheets of the qualifying examination can also apply. They must comply with the eligibility criteria by date for Interview/ Aptitude test. 

Application Fee: Application fee is Rs.12,000/- for General, OBC and EWS candidates, to be paid either through internet banking, debit or credit cards or through Bank Challan payable at any branch of State Bank of India as per instructions for Fee Deposit. SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.

Application: Applications can be submitted till 17th April, 2020 if the fee payment is by bank challan. The Challan will be generated on the same day after the submission of application. The fee can be paid in any branch of SBI. Application can be submitted till 28th April, 2020 if fee payment is in the online mode.

No change/modification is allowed after submitting the application form. Change/modification can only be done before fee payment and final submission of application fees.

After filling the application form, applicant will receive confirmation mail and message on registered Email ID and Mobile Number. Applicant may save application form in pdf format and get a printout for future reference.

Admit Cards: Admit Cards can be downloaded on or after 11th May 2020. Admit cards will serve as a valid identity for attending Interview / Aptitude test and must be preserved till joining.

Qualifying Marks in Written Test: The cut-off marks for SC/ST/EWS/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category. In case SC/ST/EWS and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category.

Interview / Viva: All short listed Candidates will be required to produce following documents in original as well as one photocopy of each document at the time of interview, to be held from 30th June 2020 (Tuesday): (i) Proof of Date of Birth ( such as 10th Class certificate) (ii) 10th Mark sheet (iii) 10+2 Mark sheet (iv) Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates (v) A Certificate from the competent Authority that the OBC Candidate does not belong to Creamy layer (vi) A Certificate from an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar that the candidate falls under EWS category (vii) Admit Card Downloaded for Written Test.

Interview/ Viva Schedule will be made available on Website/ Emails/ SMS for Successful candidates in Written on 4th June, 2020.

Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test: Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection. No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/EWS/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test.

Travelling Allowance to SC/ST Candidates: SC / ST candidates will be reimbursed only once 2nd Class to and fro rail fare on production of tickets from their registered address to Raebareli to appear for Interview / Pilot Aptitude Test.

Final Result will be put on Website / Emails / SMS on or after 14th July 2020. 

Shortlisted candidates in Final Merit shall be inducted in 3 batches starting August 2020 onwards.

Commitment Money: All Selected Candidates including SC / ST / EWS / OBC will be required to pay commitment money of Rs. 2 Lakhs which will be adjustable against the total fee, by 28th July 2020 to secure their seat on first come first serve basis.

Date of Joining First Batch will be 19th August, 2020.

Medical: Selected candidates may join with class II Medical. However they will have to clear & submit Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate subsequently. Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 3 years.
