Indian Army has invited applications for the grant of Permanent Commission in the Army for Technical Entry Scheme (TES-54), commencing in January 2026.

Applicant must be an unmarried male satisfying the Nationality conditions given in the Notification at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Age Limit: Applicant must not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years on 1.1.2026. Candidate should not be born before 02 July 2006 and not after 01 July 2009 (both days inclusive).

Educational Qualification: Applicant should have (i) passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized education board. PCM percentage will be calculated based on marks obtained in Class XII only (ii) appeared in B.E./B.Tech. paper of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main) 2025.

There are 90 vacancies (provisional).

Application: Application can be submitted online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in by 1200 hrs. on 12 June 2025 as per the instructions given in the Notification and website. Applicants will be required to fill their application number for JEE Mains 2025 for B.E/B Tech courses only.

Shortlisted candidates will be detailed to undergo Service Selection Board (SSB) interview tentatively to be scheduled from August/September 2025 onwards. Choice for SSB dates will be open for selection for two weeks in July 2025.

Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cut off decided will undergo SSB at one of the Selection Centres- Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) or Jalandhar (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres on candidate’s registered e-mail ID and SMS only. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Directorate General of Recruiting, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) and request for changes will not be entertained in this regard.

Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interview is five days and details of the same are available at the official website of Directorate General of Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.

Medicals: Those recommended by SSB, are required to undergo Medical examination at nearest Military Hospital.

Merit and Joining Letters: Merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in SSB. Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued Joining Letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.

Training: Total training will be of 4 years at Pre Commissioned Training Academies (PCTA) as follows: (a) Phase-I Integrated Basic Military Training & Engineering Training at Cadets Training Wings located at CME, Pune/MCTE, Mhow/MCEME, Secunderabad for three years (b) Phase-II Integrated Basic Military Training & Engineering Training for one year at IMA, Dehradun.

Candidates will be awarded Engineering degree on successful completion of 4 years training. On successful completion of 4 years of the course, they will be granted Permanent Commission in Army in the rank of Lt.

Cost of Training per week is Rs. 13,940/- (as on 2021) and as notified from time to time (for the period of candidate’s stay at Cadet Training Wings/Indian Military Academy Dehradun.) The cost of training which is borne by State; will be recovered from candidates withdrawing for personal reasons.
