Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test on 8th June 2024: Apply by 8th May

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) New Delhi, has invited applications for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2024, a national level examination for award of scholarship to qualified candidates seeking entry into Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) course.
The role of NBEMS is limited to the conduct of GPAT, declaration of the result and handing over the result to the Pharmacy Council of India. NBEMS has no role in counseling and disbursement of scholarship. Verification of documents and eligibility determination of the candidates shall be undertaken at the time of counseling/admission process by concerned authority. Admission to PG courses are undertaken by the State Government/ State admission committee. The information regarding counseling process, availability of seats and applicable reservation shall be published by designated authority of respective State Government/ State admission committee for admissions to M. Pharm.
Eligibility: Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students) or equivalent from a recognized university. Those appearing for the final year (4th year) examination of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission to M. Pharm course for the academic year 2024-25 are eligible to appear in GPAT 2024. Those appearing for the Pre-final year (3rd year) examination of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) whose results for Final Year (4th year) will be declared before commencement of admission to M. Pharm course for the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to appear in GPAT 2024. B.E./ B.Tech. (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology)/ equivalent candidates are not eligible to appear in GPAT 2024.
Examination Structure: GPAT 2024 shall be conducted in a single day & single session as a computer based examination on 8th June 2024 from 2 pm to 5 pm. It will have 125 Multiple Choice Questions from (i) Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Allied Subjects (38 questions) (ii) Pharmaceutics & Allied Subjects (38) (iii) Pharmacognosy & Allied Subjects (10) (iv) Pharmacology & Allied Subjects (28) and (v) Other Subjects of B. Pharm course (11). The syllabus for the GPAT shall comprise of subject/knowledge areas as per ‘The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) Course Regulations, 2024’. Each correct response will get 4 marks and for each incorrect response 1 mark shall be deducted.

Examination Fee is Rs. 3500/- (Rs.2500/- for SC, ST, PWD). The fee can be paid through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or other modes as may be made available and have been provided on the web page.
Edit Window for online editing of information in the application (except Name, Nationality, Email, Mobile number and Test City) will be open from 11th May 2024 to 14th May 2024.
Edit Window to rectify Deficient/Incorrect Images (Photograph, Signatures, Thumb Impression) will be open from 21st May to 23rd May 2024 (Pre-Final Edit Window) and from 28th May to 30th May 2024 (Final Edit Window).
The Admit Card will be issued on 3rd June 2024.
Results are expected by 8th July, 2024.
GPAT Score is accepted by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) approved / affiliated University Departments / Constituent / Affiliated Colleges / Institutions for admissions to M. Pharma and PhD courses. The validity of the score of GPAT 2024 shall be for three years.
