Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination October 2024 of NBEMS

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), New Delhi has invited applications for Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination (DPEE) October 2024.

DPEE has been introduced through Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination Regulations, 2022. After coming into force of these regulations, only those who have successfully completed the approved course of Diploma in Pharmacy and have qualified the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination will be eligible for registration as pharmacists under section 33 of the Pharmacy Act 1948. However, these regulations shall not apply to the persons whose names are already entered in the register of pharmacists for the state.

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India can register for the Diploma in Pharmacy Exit Examination. The result of final examination for the said Diploma in Pharmacy qualification should have been declared on or before 31st July 2024.

There shall be three papers of multiple choice questions in subjects’/knowledge areas covered in the syllabus as per the Diploma in Pharmacy Education Regulations 2020 (ER 2020) issued by Pharmacy Council of India. Questions in each of these three papers shall be asked from the subjects as per the blueprint prescribed by Pharmacy Council of India. Each paper of 3 hours’ duration shall comprise of 150 multiple choice questions. Each question shall have 4 response options/distractors in English language only. There shall be no negative marking. Candidates are required to select the correct/best/ most appropriate response/answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question.

Each question paper for DPEE will be divided into multiple time bound sections. If there are 3-time bound sections (Section A, B & C) in the question paper, each Section will have 50 questions and 60 minutes of time allotted for the section. Candidates would be restricted to proceed to the next section until completion of the allotted time of the previous section and candidates would not be allowed to review the questions/modify the responses of a section after the completion of the allotted time of that section. Questions of the next section will start automatically after the completion of the allotted time of the previous section.

These three paper, Paper - 1, Paper - 2 & Paper - 3 shall be conducted on a Computer Based Platform on three consecutive days, 3rd, 4th and 5th October 2024 respectively. All candidates shall be divided in two groups and shall be required to take these papers in either morning shift or the afternoon shift, each day. Examination shift shall be allocated by NBEMS. 

A candidate shall be declared as having passed only, if he/she obtains a minimum of 50% marks in each paper separately. A candidate shall have to pass all the three papers in the same attempt.

Application form for DPEE October 2024 can be submitted online at https://natboard.edu.in by 11.55 pm on 13th September 2024. Examination Fee of Rs. 5900/-, to be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or other modes as may be made available. 

Result is likely to be declared by 4th November 2024.
