Admission to Special Education Diploma Courses of Rehabilitation Council of India

National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation (NBER) under the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a statutory body of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Government of India, has invited applications for admission to various Diploma in Education (D.Ed) Courses in the field of Special Education (Spl.Edn) and Disability Rehabilitation conducted by RCI approved Training Institutions/University Department(s), across the country through Centralized Online Admission Process for the Academic Session 2021-22.

The Courses are (i)  D.Ed. in Special Education (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) - D.Ed.SpI.Ed.(IDD) (ii) D.Ed. in Special Education (Hearing Impairment)- D.Ed.Spl.Ed.(HI) (iii) D.Ed. in Special Education (Visual Impairment)- D.Ed.Spl.Ed.(VI) (iv) Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation -D.I.S.L.I. (v) Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language-DTISL & (vi) D.Ed. Special Education (Multiple Disabilities)-D.Ed. Spl.Ed (MD)

Eligibility: For Admission to Diploma Level Courses: (i) Special Education Courses: 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized Central/State Board of Education with minimum 50% marks aggregate (ii) Sign Language (DTISL): Only deaf candidates with 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized Central/State Board of Education with minimum 45% marks aggregate with Certificate of Disability (Deaf) and Proficient receptive and productive skills in ISL will be considered.

Admissions to these courses will be on merit based on the marks obtained at class 12th examinations.

Reservation for the SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS category for admission will be applicable as per the Govt. rules of the concerned State/Union Territory.

Application Fee is Rs. 500/- (Rs. 350/- for SC, ST and EWS).

PwD candidates are exempted from application fee. Fee should be remitted through payment gateway by using a Debit Card/Net Banking/ Credit Card issued by Banks in India.

National Merit List will be released on 15th November, 2021 and the Admission Process will commence on 16th November, 2021.
