Commercial Pilot Licence Course at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA); Fursatganj Airfield, Distt. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh-229 302, an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation Govt. of India, has invited applications for admission to the Ab-initio to Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Course for issue of CPL with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-Engine Aircraft. 

The course is of 24 months’ duration. However, progress depends on an individual's performance in academics and flying and unforeseen contingencies. 

Eligibility: (i) Applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with English, Mathematics & Physics with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC / ST / EWS/OBC (NCL) categories) in individual subjects (ii) Applicant should be minimum 17 years at the time of joining. Maximum age is 28 years (OBC - 31 years and SC/ST- 33 years) on last date of application (iii) Applicant should be Single/Unmarried and (iv) Minimum height required is 158 cm. 

Selection: Selection process will include online Computer Based Entrance Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test.

Online Computer Based Entrance Test will be held at notified centres on 03 June 2024 (Monday). It will have 10+2 level objective type questions from General English, Maths, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. 

Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview / Viva starting on 16 July 2024, based on the score in the Entrance Test. The cut-off marks for SC/ST/EWS/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cut-off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category. 

Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test: Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection. No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/EWS/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test. 

Application:  Applications are to be filled online at https://igrua.gov.in  (IGRUA Entrance Link) latest by 9 May, 2024. Application Fee of Rs. 12,000/- is to be paid through internet banking, debit or credit cards. SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee. Those awaiting results for the 2024 Class 12 Examination can also apply provisionally. 

Admit Cards can be downloaded on or after 24 May 2024 Friday. 

Shortlisted candidates in Final Merit shall be inducted in Four batches starting September 2024 onwards. There are 125 seats for the course (GEN-49, SC-19, ST- 10, OBC -34, EWS-13). 

Admission charges: All Selected Candidates including SC / ST / EWS / OBC will be required to pay (i) Admission charges (Non-refundable) of Rs. 50,000/- (ii) Commitment money of Rs. 2 Lacs (non-refundable but adjustable against the total fee). The last date for the payments is 06 September 2024 to secure their seat on a first come first serve basis.

Training fee: Training fee is Rs. 45 Lakhs payable in four quarterly installments in one year. Additional expenditure for about Rs. 2.5 Lakhs will have to be met towards the cost of Uniform, Navigation Computer, Headphones, etc. The training fee and other expenditure is the same for all category candidates. The Academy has tie up with Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC) for Type training on (A320/B737/ATR-72/Q-400) at their Gurugram or Hyderabad centers. Those who wish to undergo this training should indicate the same in the application. Those who opt for CPL with Type Training on aircraft mentioned above will have to pay the following additional fee for Type Training to FSTC directly (i) A 320 or B 737: Rs. 17.00 Lakhs (ii) ATR - 72 or Q- 400: Rs. 19.00 lakhs

Hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. Messing and hostel accommodation is provided. Charges will be approximately Rs. 15,000/- per month.

Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 03 years and there are 40 seats available.
