Diploma in Radiological Physics at BARC; Apply by April 5

Radiological Physics and Advisory Division (RP&AD), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Government of India has invited applications for admission to the Diploma in Radiological Physics (DipRP), a one year Post-M.Sc. programme.

The course scheduled to commence in the first week of August 2021 is conducted under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute, a Deemed to be University, Mumbai.

There are 30 seats of which 25 are for non-sponsored candidates and 5 for sponsored candidates from Government Institutions.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold full time M.Sc. (Physics) and B.Sc. (Physics Main) Degree with not less than 60% marks in aggregate for BSc and M.Sc. Those who are awaiting final results / appearing for M.Sc. (Physics) Degree may also apply.

Sponsored candidates should have at least one-year working experience in a Radiotherapy Department of Government Institution in India.

Age limit: Upper age limit as on 1st August 2021 will be 26 years. It is relaxed to 29 years for OBC and 31 years for SC/ST. Age relaxation is also available for some other categories, details of which are in the Notification at https://recruit.barc.gov.in/. For sponsored applicants, the upper age limit as on 1st August 2021 is 40 years.

Selection: Selection of non-sponsored candidates is based on Common Entrance Test (CET), for screening, followed by an interview. CET of 1.5 hours’ duration will be based on Multiple Choice Questions with negative marking for incorrect answers. Final selection is solely based on performance in the interview.

CET will be held at 11 am on 9 May 2021 (Sunday) at Atomic Energy Junior College, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400 094. Result will be declared by 5 pm, the same day. Those short listed through CET will be interviewed during 10 May 2021 to 12 May 2021 at New Training School Complex, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400 094. Successful candidates will be admitted after they are declared medically fit by the BARC hospital, Mumbai.

Selection of Sponsored Candidates is through interview only.  

On admission to the course, each non-sponsored candidate will get a stipend of 25,000/- per month for a period of one year. Sponsored candidates are not eligible for the stipend.

On successful completion of the DipRP Course, the candidates will be awarded Post M. Sc. Diploma in Radiological Physics by HBNI. However, as per the requirement of Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), to qualify as Medical Physicist to serve in radiotherapy centres, the candidates are required to complete one-year Medical Physics internship at AERB recognised radiotherapy centre on successful completion of the DipRP Course.

SC/ST applicants, Dependents of Defense Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA), women candidates and physically challenged candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
