Apply now for Summer School Programme 2025 at Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar

Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), an Aided Institute of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India Bhat, Near Indira Bridge Gandhinagar, Gujarat -382 428, has invited applications for Summer School Programme – 2025 to be held from 26^th May 2025 to 04^th July 2025. 

Those interested in pursuing a research career in Physics and Technology after M. Sc. (Physics) /B.E. /B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & instrumentation and Computer Science/ Information & Technology Disciplines), will get an opportunity to spend six weeks of their summer vacation at IPR. 

Students who are about to finish their M.Sc. Physics and B.E. / B.Tech. (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics & Communication/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ Information & Technology Disciplines only) in the year 2026 can apply for the Summer Internship. 

Those getting selected will learn about Plasma (matter in an ionized state) and its applications in nuclear fusion and industries. The course comprises of lectures on plasma science, nuclear fusion and industrial technologies and a short project related to Plasma Science/Technology. The participants will have to work on a specific project in association with a faculty member of the institute, providing them an opportunity of interacting with the scientists at IPR.

Selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs. 10,500/- for the entire period and a to and fro train fare (3^rd AC) by the shortest route. A limited number of outstation participants will be provided with accommodation and local transport facility during the Summer School Program. No accommodation and local transport facility will be provided to the local participants.

Application can be submitted online at https://www.ipr.res.in/  by 5 pm on 28.02.2025. In proof of academic performance, applicants need to upload all the required mark sheets and supporting documents during online application. A letter of recommendation from HOD is also required to be uploaded in the given format. Candidates must provide their own valid mobile number and e-mail address during the application process. 

There is no need to send the hard copy of the application to IPR. 

List of selected candidates will be displayed on IPR website tentatively in the end of March 2025. Selected candidates will also receive an Email (email addresses as given in their respective online application forms) regarding their selection. Request for late joining and early leaving of the SSP program will not be entertained.
