Apply now for B.Des + M.Des dual degree programme in Kerala

LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Nandavanam, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for admission to the Integrated Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) + Master of Design (M.Des.) Dual Degree (5-Year Program) for the academic year 2025-26.
For the academic year 2025–26, admission will be offered at the Avani Institute of Design, Ambayathode, Koodathai Post, Thamarassery, Calicut, Kerala, affiliated with the University of Calicut and approved by AICTE. There are 30 seats for the program, of which 15 are under merit quota.
Eligibility: Applicant must have passed (i) the 12th examination with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories) or (ii) diploma in architecture/engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Examination or an examination recognised as equivalent by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing a regular course of 3 years in an approved institute, securing at least 50% aggregate marks (diploma holders from other states must produce an equivalence certificate from the Controller of Technical Exams, Kerala/State Board of Technical Examinations for admission to the course) or (iii) a D.Voc stream in the same or allied sector. Candidates with an International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate, are also eligible.
No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest higher integer is permitted.
Selection: Admission to government merit seats will be based on the rank list prepared from the Kerala Integrated Design Aptitude Test (KI-DAT) to be conducted by LBS Centre.
The Entrance Examination will be of one hour and forty minutes’ duration and will be conducted at various centres which will be announced later. Candidates will be given the option through the online portal to select the suitable examination centre prior to the examination. Admit cards for the Entrance Examination will have to be downloaded by the candidate from their homepage at www.lbscentre.kerala.gov.in during the time period notified. Admit cards will not be sent by post to the candidates.
The examination will have 100 objective-type questions from social and basic sciences (10th level) (10 questions); general knowledge (15); English language (20); numerical ability and analytical aptitude (15) and design awareness (40). Each answer with a correct response will be awarded one mark. No marks will be deducted for incorrect responses. Those who secure marks above zero will be included in the rank list.
The admission process will be conducted through the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology.
Admission to management seats can be done directly by the management. For admission to management seats, the candidates must have qualified for any one of the national-level entrance examinations like NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam in Design), NID DAT (National Institute of Design, Design Aptitude Test), NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination), or the entrance examinations KI-DAT and KS-DAT conducted by LBS Centre and other academic eligibility prescribed by the affiliating university.

The application fee is Rs. 1,300/-. For SC/ST, it is Rs 650/-. The amount can be paid online while submitting the application.
