AI Hackathon by Facebook: Apply by June 24

Applications are invited for the Artificial Intelligence Hackathon 2020 being conducted by Facebook.

The contest aims at bringing the world closer together by advancing artificial intelligence-connecting people to what they care about, powering new, meaningful experiences, and advancing the state-of-the-art through open research and accessible tooling.

Participant can submit a solution featuring natural language interactions that leverage the Wit.ai platform. In addition, applicant will connect with a global community of like-minded developers, benefit from educational resources, and be in the running to win some awesome cash prizes.

Prizes: First Place: $3,000 USD; At least one 30-minute virtual meeting with a Facebook engineer and Oculus Quest 64GB VR headset (ARV: $399 USD; 1 per individual, 4 max per Org or Team); Second Place: $2,500 USD; Third Place: $1,500 USD

Eligibility: Entry and participation are open only to Individuals, Organizations, and Teams with prior internet access who at the time of entry and throughout the entire 2020 Facebook Online Hackathon Series have a Facebook and Devpost online account in good standing. Those domiciled in specific regions/countries as given at https://fbai2.devpost.com/ are not eligible.

Individuals may enter the Contest on an Individual basis and/or by joining as part of one or more Team(s) or Organization(s).

Requirements: Participants registering for the hackathon need to Use Wit.ai to build Natural Language experiences that can help people’s lives.

Participants are encouraged to build solutions that connect people and drive greater productivity. Whether it’s local discovery, small businesses serving their neighborhoods, or learning a new skill with your friend – we believe the true potential of this platform is unlocked when we build new and engaging ways for our users to connect with products they love..

Applicants need to submit (i) Demo video- the video (hosted on Facebook Video, YouTube, Vimeo, or Youku) which should be around 2 minutes (ii) Access- A way to access applicant’s working web or mobile application, chatbot, smart home devices, and the Wit.ai app ID for judging and testing.
