Maruti Suzuki is set to unveil its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara on December 2, marking a major milestone in the company’s electric vehicle lineup. The e-Vitara features a futuristic design philosophy and advanced technology built on the new HEARTECT-e platform.

The e-Vitara embodies Maruti Suzuki’s crafted futurism with a polyhedral muscular stance, giving it a distinctive and aggressive look. Key exterior highlights include the NEXtr 3-Point Matrix LED DRLs with LED headlamps, futuristic front and rear fascia, aerodynamic R18 alloys, and a smart grille with adaptive shutters. The SUV comes in 10 colour options with four dual-tone finishes, accentuating its modern appeal.

Interior and Comfort

Inside, the e-Vitara offers a digital cockpit experience with luxury touches such as soft-touch premium dual-tone interiors, ambient multi-colour lighting, and quadruple vertical AC vents. The spacious cabin benefits from a long 2700mm wheelbase, ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and flexible rear seats with sliding and reclining features. Extras like a twin-deck floating console with shift-by-wire and a sunroof with fixed glass enhance the premium feel.

Performance and Battery Technology

Powered by a high-capacity 120 lithium-ion cell battery, the e-Vitara boasts an extensive range and reliable performance even under extreme temperature conditions ranging from -30°C to 60°C. The HEARTECT-e platform combines high tensile steel for structural rigidity with a flat floor design for maximising space. Drive modes include Eco, Normal, Sport, and a unique Snow mode for better traction on slippery surfaces. The SUV also offers regen boost technology and one-pedal driving capability for efficient city navigation.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is a priority with ADAS Level 2 support, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and multi-collision braking systems, ensuring semi-autonomous driving assistance. The SUV is equipped with 7 airbags, a driver knee airbag, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with brake hold, and a 360-degree view camera. Additional features like a tyre pressure monitoring system and an acoustic vehicle alert system further enhance occupant and pedestrian safety.

Connectivity and Convenience

Connectivity is elevated by the Next Gen Suzuki Connect system, enabling remote vehicle control, health monitoring, and trip management via a smartphone app. Infotainment features include a 25.65 cm touchscreen with wireless connectivity, an Infinity by Harman audio system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration. Maruti Suzuki backs the e-Vitara with a comprehensive eco-solution offering home and fast chargers, plus a dedicated relationship manager for a seamless EV ownership experience.

Expected Price

Maruti Suzuki has priced the e-Vitara in the expected range of ₹17 to ₹26 lakh in India, positioning it competitively in the electric SUV market. This launch marks Maruti Suzuki's major step into electric mobility with a blend of style, performance, and advanced technology tailored for the Indian market.
