Karkidaka Vavu Bali - A homage to ancestors

Thousands of people came to various centres to offer ‘bali’, a tribute that ensures eternal peace for departed souls, on the occasion of Karkidaka Vavu on Wednesday. Karkidaka Vavu bali, a ritual performed to honour the ancestors began early in the day. A huge rush was witnessed at many centres. Karkidaka Vavu bali is mostly held at Shamkhumukham beach in Thiruvananthapuram, Sree Parasurama Swami temple in Thiruvallam, Papanasam beach at Varkala, Aruvippuram Shiva Temple and Aruvikkara
