US tourist thanks Kerala tourism, health department, Malayalees for help in times of coronavirus
An American tourist, Rebecca Dayle is full of gratitude towards the tourism department, KTDC and fellow Malayalees. She has been staying in self-isolation at the KTDC resort in Alappuzha. However, she tested negative for coronavirus. She returned home after a sample test and confirming that she was not suffering from COVID-19.
In a video shared in her friends’ WhatsApp group, she extensively details the facilities arranged for her during the isolation period.
The tourism department has arranged impressive facilities for tourists including foreigners in Kerala, in the backdrop of growing coronavirus infection cases.
Foreign tourists have been kept in isolation at KTDC resorts and private resorts. Health department is providing services like food of their choice to those kept in isolation.
In Alappuzha there were 9 foreign tourists in isolation but after testing negative for COVID-19, five including Rebecca have returned to their native countries.
When two US tourists requested to be kept in isolation at a private resort here, permission was granted. After sample testing, they turned negative for coronavirus infection. They have expressed their wish to continue in Kerala and not to return to their country soon.
However, another US tourist Alan, who also tested negative has requested permission to go to Goa.
