Mettupalayam: The Railways has revised the fine for those who try to click selfies in front of the Nilgiri Mountain Heritage Train. The people who attempt to take selfies in front of the train will be levied with a fine of Rs 2000.
When the heritage train climbs the hill, its speed is only 10-15 kmph. Some people take this as an opportunity to pose in front of the train. Rs 2,000 will be fined if people stand or lie down on the tracks without paying heed to the railway staff’s warning.
Rs 1,000 will be levied from those who try to cross the railway track when the train is nearing. The fine for entering the platform without a ticket is Rs 1,000 and littering the platform causes a fine of Rs 300. Littering or spitting on the track will invite a fine of Rs 200.
The railway authorities have informed that the details of the revised fines are displayed at all stations like Ooty, Ketti, Coonoor, Mettupalayam and Kallar in the Nilgiri Heritage Train route.
