Pedestrian path, seating arrangements and more in plan to attract tourists to Bekal Fort
Uduma: The Kerala tourism department has approved Rs 1 crore for the renovation projects at Bekal Fort in Kasaragod. The Bekal Fort road renovation will include a welcome arch at the start point of the road, bus waiting shed cum toilet and shop at Kottakkunnu, reconstruction of compound walls on both sides of the road, and high mast light installation at junctions.
Apart from this, streetlights will be installed on roadsides, seating arrangements near the fort, 1.5m wide tiled pedestrian paths on both sides of the road are also included in the project.
The work is entrusted with DTPC. KSTP had started the road construction works already spending Rs 2.65 crore.
