Friends always jump into the idea of trips, be it anywhere, anytime. When it is with friends, there is no space for questions. Friendship and love for trips are the reasons behind it. The trips always gift unforgettable memories especially when made with those who are in love with travelling. This is the fuel behind ‘Kattaadi Travel Community’, a small travel collective initiated by students.
They travel freely enjoying the beauty of the world just like the seeds of a dandelion flower fly when they are blown off. ‘Kattaadi’ was the brain child of Haneen Yusuff, second year Functional English student from Farook college. His friends in college were his travelmates. Later, members of the NGO ‘I- Lab’ also travelled with ‘Kattaadi’. It got extended when more students from other colleges in the city joined them.
‘Kattaadi’ was started in April this year. About 20 members are presently part of the collective. Their first trip was to Nilambur, then they travelled Mysore, Meenmutty waterfalls, Kurumbalakotta and Ooty.
They depend only on public transport like KSRTC for travelling which would help to lower the expenditure so it would cost only upto Rs 600 per head.
The trip plans are made through their Whatsapp group. They prefer night travelling. It help them to spent a whole day at the destination and return on the same night.
Haneen said that there are a lot of girls who love to travel and ‘Kattaadi’ could support their dreams.
