9800 kilometres in 45 days; Veena to roam India on her bike
Alappuzha:Veena Viswanath is all set to begin her bike ride from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with a message that long road trips are also for girls. She will start her journey on August 15 through Salem and return via Mangalore.
Alappuzha native Veena has planned to cover 9800 kilometres within 45 days. She aims to inspire all girls who dream to go for long rides on their own. Though many women ride two-wheelers, only a very few prefer bikes. She would like to see a change in this perception.
Veena, a certified Harley-Davidson rider, was the former manager of Harley-Davidson Chapter Kozhikode.
She is the coordinator of Girl Power, Athazhakoottam in Kozhikode. Girl Power is an active group of 120 women from different regions of the state. The group which was formed in 2015 conducts several social services in the state.
