Tourists flock to Kumarakom to enjoy boat ride and waterlilies
Kumarakom: A large number of tourists are flocking to Cheepunkal here to enjoy boat ride through backwaters and to experience the mesmerizing beauty of waterlilies. The boat rides organized by Responsible Tourism Mission at reasonable rates have attracted a lot of tourists here.
The boat rides in Shikaras through Vembanad Lake and waterlilies grown in the water resource gives out a unique experience to visitors. Waterlilies can be seen from 6 am to 9 am. The bloomed waterlilies will remain in the backwater for around six-months unlike fields.
The Responsible Tourism Mission is also providing tour packages that include breakfast. Aymanam grama panchayat has decided to arrange better basic facilities for visitors in the wake of increasing numbers.
Panchayat president A K Alichan said that ‘Ambal Mahotsav’ would be arranged here in association with tourism department and responsible tourism mission in view of Christmas-New Year tourists.
