Restrictions imposed at beaches; Public turns blind eye
Kannur: High tide has resulted in DTPC authorities imposing strict restrictions at beaches in the district. A large part of the shore was destroyed in high tide near Payyambalam. Border line was drawn with ropes to restrict people from entering into the waters here.
But many are crossing the rope line and going into the water. This invites accidents. Authorities are mooting from help from police to restrict the public.
Apart from Payyambalam, Chal beach, Muzhappilangad, Dharmadam, Choodattu, Meenkunnu also have restrictions placed in.
DTPC has warned of dangers in wandering into the water. The vehicles have also been banned from the Muzhappilangad drive-in beach.
