Naduvil: Paithalmala, which was completely destroyed in the wildfire, got a new lease of life in the last showers of the summer rain. The charred land was covered in green after the recent rainfall.
Podikkulam to the west slope of the popular tourist spot in Kannur was completely burned off. For the past years, authorities were able to bring the wildfire under control by restricting the visitors.
But this year, there was no restriction. The scorching summer heat and the dried up rivers and streams resulted in the destruction of a large amount of natural resources.
But the rains have given a little hope of greenery here for the visitors.
